INGREDIENTS
- 1 sheet of ready rolled puff pastry
- 1 lb of Lottie’s Everyday Breakfast sausage
- 2-4 tbsp apple butter
- 1 egg beaten with a splash of water
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Roll out puff pastry and cut in ½ lengthwise
- Work sausage into two long logs, the length of puff pastry.
- Place one sausage log in center of one of the puff pastries and spoon apple butter along the sausage.
- Fold the pastry over sausage and jam, making a crease close to sausage to push out air bubbles.
- Cut excess pastry from fold, leaving ¼-½ inches. Crimp with fork (as you would a pie). Repeat with other half of the pastry.
- Brush with egg wash and cut sausage rolls into 2 inch pieces and place on greased baking sheet.
- Optional: Sprinkle with your favorite toppings like poppyseed, celery seed or everything bagel seasoning or flake salt.
- Bake 20-30 minutes until golden brown and sausage is cooked through.
- Enjoy on their own or dipped in some warm maple syrup!
