Bratwurst with Grandma's Slaw

Our grandma would make us the sweetest, tangiest slaw that we've LOVED bringing to Lottie's. It's perfect on our Bratwurst with a ground mustard. Give it a whirl below for the perfect crunch and accompaniment to your snappy Brat!

Step 1: Make a Slaw Syrup

  • ½ cup water
  • 2 ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup white distilled vinegar
  • Bring to boil and let simmer for ~ 10 minutes to make a thick syrup

Step 2: 

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup of slaw syrup
  • Cut cabbage into thin slices for slaw
  • Combine the slaw syrup (^) and vegetable oil and dress the cabbage and enjoy the sweet-and-tangy crunch on top of our signature, snappy bratwurst!
