May 2025 Happenings

Oh April! Chelsey laughed at me (Cassie) because I told her “April” would be our calm, restful month before a busy summer….and then she calmly and patiently (as always) reminded me that I have said that about January…and February…and countless times before that. 

And (also, as always), she was right. 

April was a new kind of mayhem for us because while we are still  very much in building mode, we also need to manage and support what we have already built (aka, account management and community engagement). In April, not only did we add 30+ new stores (more on that below), but we also supported 30+ IRL events - mainly demos at grocery stores, some very fun menu collabs (see Chelsey's recap of last weekend here) and even a Squats & Brats workout class 😅.

One thing most people may not understand (or at least we didn't until we started in the CPG biz) is that it is one thing to get on shelves at stores, but it is another (much harder) thing to stay on shelves. And rightfully so! Stores & distributors take a risk on you with their very limited real estate and you, the brand, have to give it your all to show that you should be there. And, that requires a lot of demos, merchandising, time and resources 😅 so customers can (a) find us and (B) try us and then ideally (C ) continue to buy us on shelf! 'Tis quite hard!

But, we're up for the challenge (most days) and we set out to build Lottie's by leading with community and quality so if we keep that top of mind and continue to hustle, we're hopeful the rest will follow.
